FOCUS COUNTRIES
Focus countries in the project
ASEAN – Association of Southeast Asian Nations – was founded on the august 8th 1967 and is guidet by its founding pinciples of cooperation, kindness and non-interfering.
In short this association seeks in unison with these countries to:
Promote economic growth, social progress and cultural development in the region
Promote regional peace and stability
Promote active cooperation and mutual assistance within areas of common interest
Provide assistance to each other in form of aducation and research facilities
More effective cooperation by exploiting possibilities within agriculture and industry, expanding trading, improvement of transportation and communications facilities and in general improvement of the standard of living of the population
Preserving a close and beneficial cooperation with existing international organisations with similar goals and purpose
The launch of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) makes this region to one of the worlds strongest economies.
IMF estimates that the countries in this merged economic zone together represents a BNP of 3,5 billioner dollars, which ranges this zonen as the fifth greatest economy ind the world.
The BNP of the region is also expected to grow with about 5% in 2021.
